Located in the middle of the Pays d'Auge, Beuvron is one of the most beautiful villages in France; the very Anglo-Norman Manoir de Sens sits supreme there. The Queen's delight? What does she tell us, Fiona McGown, who delights the queen? Stories of poor girls and poor girls, of prevented love, of racy desires in the countryside and of nasty intrigues in the city. With this manner of the Breton islands with their characteristic timbre, on a grain of violin and a madness of flute. Sung ballad, ground with an obsessive rhythm, jig a little shaken, and contradance which does not sanction anything, on the contrary. Queen Elizabeth I plays it at court, it's country dance – the dance of the country, England – everyone knows it by heart and body; the aristocrat invites the servant, the artisan and the plowman exchange faces. There is in this repertoire enriched by learned composers, Purcell at the head of the quadrille, a common good, a pop and folk flavor from which our century still nourishes itself.
