A film concert is music played live for real that accompanies a silent film. On the big screen: Charlot. On the stage: an orchestra of 22 musicians, tireless tillers of the territory and renowned specialists of the genre. In the hall: audiences of all ages and all sensibilities, from music connoisseurs and film buffs to curious families. With two Charlots for the price of one. Because do we know that Charlie Chaplin – actor, director, inventor of a universe that is both burlesque and generous – was also a composer? The music of Charlot Soldat – trench warfare undermined by the genius of comedy – is his own. As a prelude, the fast-paced short film Charlot escapes , with wild music commissioned by the orchestra from complicit composer Cyrille Aufort.
